I don't own a 9-3ss, but I've noticed on the key they have the lock, unlock, trunk, and a button with a white line on it. What does that button do? I have been curious for a while and am finally asking, haha. I am a nerd.:cheesy: Thanks.

Yeah, my 9-5 does that too. It's actually kind of annoying that it takes so long to set off the panic. Oh well. That's a cool feature though with the follow me home lights.JMarkert said:Also, I think if you press and hold any of the buttons, the car alarm will go off.
owners manuals.... they are beautiful things!!!!JonV said:There actually referred to as "Halo Lighting"...follow me home is different, it is activated by pulling back on the Signal Stalk.
To activate this function:
1 After turning off the engine, remove the
remote control.
2 Open the driver’s door.
3 Pull the control stalk all the way towards
the steering wheel.
The low beam headlights and reversing
lights will come on and remain on for
30 seconds when the door is closed.
Time duration and front or rear lights can actually be selected via Tech II
Sorry, I don't have a 9-3ss and didn't feel like tricking GM Owner Central into thinking I did in order to download the owner's manual.74stingray said:owners manuals.... they are beautiful things!!!!![]()
relax friend.. i am not being a jerk.... i just read that same thing in my manual today! I was just hoping to draw attention to the need to look over the manual, it was not a slam... I am sorry if you took it that way...raquettelaker2 said:Sorry, I don't have a 9-3ss and didn't feel like tricking GM Owner Central into thinking I did in order to download the owner's manual.

I guess it's irrelevant, but I wonder why?chr15gb said:If I get a ticket I am going to blame you!!!
OK, so we're deeply into the esoteric, but only some years of the SS have pop up washers. My 04 has just jets sitting out on the bumper. I wonder if these work at speed? I don't remember my owners manual commenting on operations above 125 anyhow (I'm guessing the US manuals are mute on anything that might happen at these speeds).raquettelaker2 said:The 9-5 has the washers pop out of the bumper, and I assume that the little bumper covers would turn into sails and rip and the jets out.
I'm sure the same rules apply to the non-pop-up washers. The wind force would disperse any fluid that comes out of them rendering them useless.JMarkert said:OK, so we're deeply into the esoteric, but only some years of the SS have pop up washers. If you are speaking of the 'Vector' aluminum sills on the front doors, then all 03 Vectors in the US have them. Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your comment or not.....jimbayne said:I ordered the Vector door sills from a dealer in Canada![]()
Pretty sure I'm the only car in the US with them...

We have just gone through this, that is not follow me home lighting when you hold that button, you get City Lights and Taillights, it is referred to as Halo Lighting. Follow me Home/Courtesy Lighting is operated by the Signal Stalk.....stated in the manual this way:Roger And Out said:Hold the oblong button down a short time. And you get follow me home with headlights. Hold the oblong button down a long time. And you get four way flashers and horn sound. To chase car jackers away.
My car is an 04 and I have Arc door sills as well. I believe my car was manufactured in March or April.wtfwill said:i'm so glad i've got an '03 for a few reasons.. one of which being i have pop up washers, not ugly "worts"
