The sort of oval line button turns on the parking lights for a minute or so (or headlights) so you can find your way out of the garage. I think it's called the 'follow me home' feature.

Yeah, my 9-5 does that too. It's actually kind of annoying that it takes so long to set off the panic. Oh well. That's a cool feature though with the follow me home lights.

I always thought car companies should team up with Homelink and add a garage door signal into their key fobs. There have been tons of times I would have found this useful. Maybe I should write to Saab and get them on that. It could be their company-saving innovation. Not.

relax friend.. i am not being a jerk.... i just read that same thing in my manual today! I was just hoping to draw attention to the need to look over the manual, it was not a slam... I am sorry if you took it that way...

I guess it's irrelevant, but I wonder why?

Do they assume that if you can go 124 that the roads are reasonably dry? Do the windshield jets work at that speed? The fog lights?

I would think that inactivating the radio and phone above 100 would be wise too.

As for the 125mph thing, have you ever stuck your arm out the window moving at any kind of speed? The wind force is pretty impressive even at 60mph, let alone 125. The 9-5 has the washers pop out of the bumper, and I assume that the little bumper covers would turn into sails and rip and the jets out. Plus the high-pressure force of the washer fluid shooting out would just be negated by the wind so they would be pretty useless. You would just get washer fluid stripes down the sides of your car.

OK, so we're deeply into the esoteric, but only some years of the SS have pop up washers. My 04 has just jets sitting out on the bumper. I wonder if these work at speed? I don't remember my owners manual commenting on operations above 125 anyhow (I'm guessing the US manuals are mute on anything that might happen at these speeds).

I'm sure the same rules apply to the non-pop-up washers. The wind force would disperse any fluid that comes out of them rendering them useless.

Pretty sure I'm the only car in the US with them...

My 04 has the sills, don't know if someone installed them though or if they came with the factory. I don't know its a toss up for me I kind of like the looks of the worts.:cheesy:

If you are speaking of the 'Vector' aluminum sills on the front doors, then all 03 Vectors in the US have them. Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your comment or not.....

My headlight washers only work when the car is stopped fully. Even at 5mph they dont work. hmm!

We have just gone through this, that is not follow me home lighting when you hold that button, you get City Lights and Taillights, it is referred to as Halo Lighting. Follow me Home/Courtesy Lighting is operated by the Signal Stalk.....stated in the manual this way:

It is referred to as "Courtesy Lighting" in the manual and "Follow Me Home" in the Tech II Directions.


And yes it is also the Panic Alarm Button.

My car is an 04 and I have Arc door sills as well. I believe my car was manufactured in March or April.
