Rear wiper arm removal

Hey guys I need some help with removing my rear window wiper arm.

The reason I want to remove it is because a little while ago my G3 ground was bad, so anything that I turned on in the back (blinker, defroster, wiper etc.) the engine would lose power. And one day my wiper just wasn't moving but the motor was still running so it was stealing power from my car to where I was losing speed on the freeway. So I pulled over and moved it manually to where it should be. I must have broken a gear or something because now it moves completely freely to the point where i'll be driving an it turns into a tail. lol

But I just want to remove it for the time being until I can afford to fix whatever I broke on it

Thanks

What did you need help with removing it?

basically you just remove the hatch trunk liner and pull out the motor with a few bolts

I actually deleted mine with the entire motor and plugged it with some loctite stik'n seal

if you take the whole thing out you can remove the cover and check the gears, you might be able to get it so that while it may not be properly functional you can at least stop it from flopping around

If the retaining nut is loose, which they tend to back off, just flip the black cover up. Remove the nut and arm completely and clean all contact area. Can't remember what I used but a non-permanent loctite or equivalent is ideal for the shaft and arm contact area. Run the nut back down firm once aligned (I place the wiper along the blackout edge) and you should be good to go for years.

Absolute worst case is the shaft teeth are worn smooth and you may need a new (used) assembly. With the taper of the shaft, if should still give you enough bite for service.
