New bypass valve — should I use it?

EDIT: I would like to delete the bypass valve and backdate my heater hose setup to the pre—1990 heater hose arrangement. If anyone can instruct me on the procedure I would be grateful .

I have installed a couple new heater core hoses (I sacrificed the old ones to install a new alternator) and on the advice of a shop, installed a new bypass valve.

The new bypass valve concerns me, I can spot drops of coolant emerging from it when I squeeze the hose near the bleeder screw

That's not right and I would not run it. If you can, I'd just source the two hoses that to & from the heater core without the bypass. It never really worked the way it was intended to anyway.

Also, I'd really advise using higher quality hose clamps. Those cut worm gear ones chew up radiator hoses... With the c900, supply is getting thin and you don't wanna do any unnecessary damage to them. Embossed clamps like the factory ABA clamps really are better... Belmetric stocks them.

There are other similar ones from other brands but those are a known quantity.
