intercooler pipe size

For those that are running a 9000 FMIC, I was just wondering what diameter pipe you are using for the turbo plumbing?

What factors determine what diameter pipe should be used coming off the turbo and entering the throttle body? Is there a relation to how much boost you are running and the size of the turbo being used? If its too small will you lose power? If its too small will there be more lag present?

Let me know what your set-up is and how it performs.

I can tell you my setup but as I have not tried other setups, I can't really tell if it works perfectly or not :)

Turbo = Mitsubishi TE-12b, my IC pipe starts out the same size as the turbo outlet (40mm??), but after it turns 180 degrees downwards my custom FMIC, the pipe diameter expands to 50mm. Then it's 50mm all the way to IC and from IC until the throttlebody where it expands slowly to the diameter of the throttlebody.
