On both my 900 and my 93 i've been able to take the climate control out just by slipping a knife in the slot around it and gently prying it strait out. I've never left a mark doing it.

Once you get it out you will need to take it apart. Start by removing the two T9 screws on the sides of the unit. Then carefully separate the parts by lifting the 6 tabs and then disconnecting the Red ribbon on the inside.

Next take out the 6 T7 screws holding the circuit board in place and the 4 T7 screws that are near the face of the unit on the top and bottom. Carefully lift the circuit board out by pushing out the 4 plastic tabs holding it in place after the screws are out. Then pull the circuit board out and push on the face of the screen at the same time so they slide out together and you don't rip the ribbon.

Then do whatever you need to do.

I need to clean up the contacts I think ....
it has its moments .... it will show everything fine sometimes ...
and sometimes it will have lines missing.

There are no contacts to clean. More likely you will need to fix the ribbon strip where it attaches to the circuit board. This take a gentle and steady hand. I fixed mine last week. over time the glue used to hold the ribbon strip the circuit board starts to lift. You'll need a heat gun that works at between 200-300 degrees Celsius. Moving it back and forth quickly pass it over the ribbon strip where it connects to the circuit board. Use a piece of metal to block the heat from getting to the rest of the ribbon. Otherwise it will shrivel up. Then use a small block or the edge of a ruler to press the ribbon down.

This is what I did to fix mine.

I do not guarantee the safety of any parts if you follow these instructions.

lol. Nope a soldering iron is a guaranteed way to break it. I watched a friend try that and fail.

You can also try to devise some clever plan of finding a way to make a piece of rubber such as an elastic press firmly down on the base of the ribbon strip. Let me know if you try that and get it to work.

I can see that some of the tape is come off ... it is not damaged. I tried to work it with a blow drier which I had handy... but did not do the job.
I will ask neighbours if they have heat gun... mmm

I managed to fix thoguh something it was driving me mad!!! the temp sensor (next to the heated seats switch, was making racketing noise)
So I took it off, cleared all the dush in the ?fan? motor and applied a nice coat of thin white spray grease. That did the job at last :)

OK of for the search of the heat gun.

OK tried the heatgun ... rippled a bit the tape but not damaged ...
no good result
I think I will need to replace the tape.
And my fear is that the end that is not glued properly is on the end on the LCD rather than he PCB board I was focusing my attention.

I will order a new tape and replace it with a new and new glue

By the way just for the record,
I removed the A/C using a knife as previously mentioned. I could not believe how easy it was to take it off.
A butter spread knife is best for this to work lol
