AMP1 Loopback connector question

I purchased this MOST loopback connector from Etadyne because my AMP1 stopped working (symptom: radio stopped working, no sound for directional signals).

The installation instructions call for separating a two-pin optical cable connector from the main connector, but I can't as it all appears to be one integrated housing into which the fibre optic cables run directly (see thumbnail).

So, can anyone tell me:
1) how to remove the fibre optic cables from the main connector, since there's no separable optical cable connector?
2) how I can still make use of the loopback connector since it expects the insertion of the two-pin optical cable connector on one end?
3) an alternate way of creating the loopback? (at this point I've removed and totally disassembled/torn apart amp1, so it can't be part of the solution)

Thanks

It may appear to be one piece but it actually is not. I have taken these apart before. I assume that this is the connector that was plugged into AMP1.

This document may be of some additional assistance:

BTW saabdocs.com is a great repository of instructions for Saab accessories.

You should not have to take out the seat. Just put it as far forward as it will go and raise it as much as possible. That should give you just enough clearance to do what you need to do.

It will by-pass your amp not make it work again. You will regain functionality of your radio and blinker sounds but will lose some of your speakers.

Also, notwithstanding the helpful feedback I received on the forum, I was in fact unable to disengage the fibre optic connector housing from the main housing. It may be that there are different housings where everything is an integrated unit, or it may be that I was unable to gain the access I would need to perform the disengagement. Everything is very tight in there under the driver's seat, particularly if the exposed cable run is very short, as I found to be the case.
I ended up buying a used amp1 in good condition on ebay for $250 - a comparatively good price - and simply replaced the amp. Everything is working now as it should.
