Hello! I recently purchased my 2004 Saab 9-3 Convertible (with only 48k miles on th clock!) The problem I have is when I press the button to put the roof down, it does not work and I get a message "manual operation only" I go through the process and undo all the locks to release. When I press the button the roof works perfectly going down, however when I press the burrow for the roof to close, the front section functions normally bu then the back section with the rear window does not lift, the roof just stops, but you can still hear the roof motor trying to work the roof. Also the error message comes back on the display saying manual operation only! Does anyone have Amy idea of what the fault is? I would really appreciate you response.

Thank you

The Tech II is a tool that was used by GM on various cars. It requires a specific Saab software card for your car.

You need to find a Saab specialist with the tool. Clones from China are/were available. There are few or no "standard auto scanner" replacements for a Tech II.

See the Tech II forum here for more information.

I bought a Tech 2 Scanner with Saab Software card. This is the message I got regarding my roof when I did sensor test: “ A possible sensor problem was detected. Blinking sensors did not change status as expected” “ Tonneau cover latched right, Tonneau cover latched left, Tonneau Cover up” so it looks like I need to change some sensors! Does anyone know where these sensors are located?

Tonneau cover latch right sensor is located in right hinge.
Tonneau cover latch left sensor is in left hinge.
I do not recognize tonneau cover up sensor.

Can you taka a pic of TECH2 screen where you have these?
