Solving rich running & high idle problems on my T16

I'd just like to echo all the superlatives in previous posts about this subject. My car has been running rich at idle, nearly stalling if the throttle is lightly touched etc, but it wasn't that bad that I felt the urge to do anything about it. I read Matthews post and decided to have a look, last night I got stuck in and it turned out that the TPS wasn't clicking when the throttle was closed. After about 10 minutes of scrubbing with toluene and a toothbrush lots of black gunge had dribbled out and it started to click and now the idle is smoooooth :cheesy: . I reset the throttle cable tension, throttle stop, replaced the dashpot, which was knackered and also cleaned out the aux air valve before my inspiration wore off.
Whilst I was fiddling around I did notice something rather strange about my engine though ('86 T16) - I don't have a fifth injector. I have a spare engine from a T16 of the same year and this has the injector fitted into the hose between the throttle body and the aux air valve - mine doesn't, but it does have the white electrical connectors that would attach to the injector and the red ones to the thermostat(guess). Anyone have any ideas why mine might not have one and would it do any harm if I was to transfer it from my spare engine. The other engine has AC, mine doesn't if that is any help.
