Replaced the battery, but now the radio/turn signal sound don't work!

My car battery recently died while my mom was borrowing my car. She, not wanting to bother me, called a tow truck whose driver tried to jump my car using his truck. Turned out the battery was dead and needed to be replaced. After being replaced, however, the radio wouldn't turn on and the turn signal blinker stopped working.

Our first thought was we needed to punch in a radio code. Nope. Next, we pulled the fuse. Nope, it was fine. Next, we assumed it just needed to be "remarried" to the radio. Nope (at least according to the Saab dealer).

Now, Saab wants $130 just to look at the thing (which as a student, I would rather not pay). I'm praying that it's something I can just do myself, or just take to a local garage/Pepboys to do.

Any ideas? Or am I doomed to get ripped off by the dealer?

I had this happen...I removed the seat, pulled out amp1, pulled the housing off the amp (few screws) and scraped a bit of corrosion off a corner of the circuit board. Put it all back together and radio/signals were all working fine! Just be careful with the fiber optic cables (orange) so as not to kink/damage them in the process.

Swapped out the CD, radio now operational. The electronic box mounted on top of the player is like the tradional radio electronic box. The radio itself appears to be just buttons powered by the CD/box below.

In my case I pulled the radios with the battery connected resulting in a triggered failure in CD power unit.

Still can get CD's to do any more than load - no play as yet. May be a bad player.

Thought you should know your problem may be in the CD electronics.

Just got back from the dealer checking out my no radio/blinker audio problem. He said my CD player had an interrupted signal. The system operates a fiber-optic loop so all components need to be functioning. He had an optic jumper cable to confirm radio was OK. In my case, I plan on swapping out another CD to see if the system powers up.

what might it run to replace the AMP?
If you find a cheap amp1 let me know... The cheapest I've been able to find one is 300, but you may get lucky if someone is parting a 9-3 out and doesn't know what they have.

I have heard that jumping the car can fry the amp under the seat and I think that's what you have here. I purchase my car with no radio or turn signal sound and figure it was somthing simple. It was, but not cheap so for now I have just bypassed amp1.
