Hello, i just replaced power steering seals for my 2008 9-3 2.0t. It has 216,000 miles on it. I think there was engine oil in the reservoir. Is it necessary to flush the system? If ues can someone explain how? Thanks!

Yes.
You need to flush engine oil out, because it is totally different than hydraulic fluid.
Remove rubber hose to reservoir, start engine, oil comes out from hose. Stop engine when no oil comes out.
Install hose back. Fill system with CHF11S or CHF202 fluid. Turn steering wheel multiple times all way. Check fluid level and top when needed. Start engine and repeat. You are done when fluid level do not drop. Fill reservoir to correct level.
Take a beer.

Seals ? which ones... Pump.. Rack seals ??
How did engine oil get into the PS reservoir... and How did you replace 'seals' without emptying the reservoir and Hoses ?
Turkey baster or similar Suck out the reservoir... Refill and repeat until you have Cycled 2 quarts of Power steering fluid through..
And Yess generic GM type fluid is Fine despite internet wisdoms.
PS system is a very basic device.. Needing No exotic fluids.
Unless a fluids salesman.

I'm going to assume the pump seals. Engine oil leaks into the pump when the seal between the pump and head is bad. Mine has been slowly leaking since I bough it, obvious by the slight crud all around the pump/reservoir and on top of the oil cooler. About a week after changing the engine oil, it was about a half quart low, but my power steering fluid was over filled. How can the power steering be over filled if it's been leaking? Engine oil leaking into it from the head, that's how. Also, the power steering fluid looks and smells like engine oil.

After replacing the pump seals, everything has been dry.

To flush, disconnect return hose and connect it to another hose into a a container, plug the tank outlet shut, lift car front with jack, fill tank almost full,
Start engine for few seconds until u see fresh green fluid, shut down engine, refill tank, turn steering to full slowly and then other direction slowly and keep doing that until all dirty fluid is expelled (watch tank level not to drop).
When done, connect hose back and fill tank to proper level, start engine for 5 seconds, if u see the fluid foaming wait until foam is gone and repeat last two steps.
