You will need the GlobalTIS ISO, Saab GlobalTIS keygen (Saab GlobalTIS keygen.zip), Sumatra PDF (if you don't have a PDF reader), and the Virtual CD Control Panel (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38780)
Put all of these files on the desktop.

Steps:
1. Launch and unzip the Virtual CD-ROM control panel (Note: if you're using Windows 8 or 10, skip this step. You can double-click the ISO, and it will mount)
2. Load driver and mount GlobalTIS ISO
3. Open My Computer, launch Saab GlobalTIS CD and click next repeatedly throughout the setup process (you may have to
4. Open GlobalTIS, fill out the registration information
5. Download the Email/Fax registration file to the desktop
6. (Optional) unmount ISO and unload the virtual CD
7. Unzip GlobalTIS keygen, set environment variable/path to C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\jre\bin
8. Go to C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\tomcat\webapps\ROOT and install Java
9. Copy keygen files into C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\tomcat\webapps\tis2web\WEB-INF\lib
10. Open cmd and type the following: cd C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\tomcat\webapps\tis2web\WEB-INF\lib
11. Open registration.pdf on the desktop, copy the registration key, remove dashes and combine them into one line. If you don't have a PDF reader, download and install SumatraPDF (Download Sumatra PDF - a free reader)
12. Go back to cmd, type keygen.bat, press the spacebar once, then right-click, Paste, and enter. (the keygen.bat and the registration key should have a space between them)
13. Reopen GlobalTIS, scroll down to the registration section
14. Copy subscribe ID and License Key by right-clicking in cmd, clicking Mark, highlighting text, then pressing enter to copy
15. Go back to GlobalTIS registration and paste the ID/key in their respective fields
16. Click Register License Key, OK, then Logout
17. Close and re-open GlobalTIS, and the software is activated.

I know I'm a bit late to the discussion, but here's some info that should help you if you're willing to give it another shot (or for anyone else who might come across this post).

I don't know where you got that from, but that is most assuredly NOT the file from the sticky link on the other thread. This is all that shows up when I download it:

When you got to this point, you were looking at the contents of the ISO file, which was in the zip archive you downloaded.
You're essentially at the right point, although you would have to do all this on a Windows PC rather than a Mac.

The zip archive you downloaded contains these files:
275414

When you double click on the ISO, it mounts and shows the contents - this matches what you see in your screenshot. If you were on a PC, double clicking the Setup.exe file would start the installation process.

edit: I saw your latest post. I think I know the CIM error you're talking about, as I've seen that on both my tech2 and Tech2win emulator. I think that's a bug that affects everyone, so it's not necessarily an issue with your setup. I can still skip past that error, and even if there's a failure message, the process still works.

hi, trying to activate globaltis with this guide and get stuck on this problem. had tested several times with a win 8.1 pc and and a win xp sp3 pc, both 64 bit without luck. the program wont get me the key, anyone that can help

Your key is being split up into two parts, so the first command fails because the key isn't long enough.

See how there the second half of the key is at the bottom of the command prompt? You should copy the key from the GlobalTIS registration PDF into notepad, then put the whole thing on one line, remove the dashes, then paste it into command prompt.

I wonder if the GlobalTIS iso download is somehow corrupted or isn't downloading correctly from Google Drive for whatever reason.

To anyone having that problem, message me on the forum and I can send you a link to the copy of GlobalTIS that I know works.

Fantastic guide. I'm almost there!!!! just one sticking point

I get

"java" is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" when I paste in the final long digit key code into the Admin command panel.

I got this far I cannot give up!!! On windows 10 btw

Anyone come across this before?
I suspect that Java is not part of your system path environment variable. Can you try opening a non-admin command prompt and run the command there?

For GlobalTIS, I use Firefox and set it to automatically open JNLP files with the Java Web Start application. That essentially does the same thing as the Web Start plugin in IE.

I generally wouldn't do any web browsing on an XP machine, but K-Meleon seems like a decent choice. I tried it out and was surprised to see how well it handled modern websites, unlike the last XP-compatible version of Firefox.

When I have a chance, I'll see if I can make an updated video showing the process on Windows 10. It should be mostly the same, aside from not needing to install the ISO mounting software and PDF reader.

Would love this. I never managed to get rid of the Java related error and endless downloads of Java files. Was going to try to custom install GlobalTIS in Programs (Not "x86") to see if it helped. But I got disctracted.
T o address your questions about the Java plugin and having to download the file every time:
  • The Java Web Start "missing plugin" will always appear unless you use Internet Explorer. (The plugin is not compatible with any modern browser)
  • It's not possible to automatically open the Java/JNLP files in Edge or Chrome. While there is a policy to allow certain file types to open automatically, this won't work on a home PC.
  • Firefox may be able to do this if you're using the ESR version and have it configured the right way. I tried a few different things but gave up.
Your best bet is to use Internet Explorer for GlobalTIS since it works with Java Web Start.

Here's the video showing the Windows 10 install process:
