Code 12 -- Acc 02 9-5 wagon

My 02 Linear wagon, 61000 miles, now has a code 12 on the ACC.

Not getting any air from the dash or foot vents (but there is air through the defrost, which has made the past few *very8 hot days tolerable!)

This appears to be a stepper or air distribution problem. Question is -- when I look at parts online, it appears there are 3 of these motors (is that right?).

How do I know which one is bad, and where is it under the dash? Is this a DIY job - I'm reasonably mechanical.

Thanks --

Thanks Kermit

Been very happy with my 9-5 wagon, bought new, just turned 61000, in 5 years.

The past year, though, there have been 4 tows to the dealer.... each time a chunk of change to the dealer. (I can only imagine the glee in the service writer's eyes when I tell them my ACC is throwing 3 error codes...)

So, I'm hoping that this ACC control issue is something I can tackle...

That said, the thing now is throwing 3 codes -- 10, 12, 13.... (seems to be getting worse)...

Who's good to contact to order parts?

Pete, get the trim off the side of the centre console and observe what flaps are moving and what aren't moving. Its usually a broken shaft or cam on the flap thats at fault ($10 part max). Dealers will charge the earth to fix so hang upside down like a bat in the footwell and DIY it yourself. Have a look at the FAQ's sticky to see what you are facing, its not too daunting once you know what you are dealing with. Parts suppliers are the usual culprits www.eeuroparts.com or www.genuinessab.com
