c900 emblem replacement choices

I bought two c900 hood emblems recently (part 4522884) and thought I'd share my experience.

New ones from Eeuroparts ($41US) or thesaabsite ($33) are obviously pretty expensive, so I didn't go there. I don't have wreckers nearby with c900 parts so I pretty much have to hunt for deals. (You guys with wreckers nearby chock-full of c900 parts - I don't want to hear from you.* ;)

One emblem I bought used from a US seller on ebay. Including shipping it was around $24CDN. I hate paying that much for a used piece of plastic but what to do - the old emblem was toast and this was about as good a deal I could find at the time.

The second emblem I bought new a few weeks later on ebay.co.uk. Didn't think I could find a new one for a good deal (their price was amazingly low, relatively speaking, for a new emblem). The seller's ad says they'll only ship to the UK but I emailed asking if they'd ship to Canada, and they agreed. I got a brand new hood emblem for less than $19 CDN shipped! Didn't have to pay duty since it was under $20, and it arrived in 8 days.;ol;

Here's the link if anyone's interested. As of this morning they've got 10 emblems left. Email and ask if they'll ship to your location. Good luck!

In both instances I needed only the emblems. The original grommets remained in the hood for re-use. The old emblems were undamaged.

Use care when pulling up the old emblem. I used a small flathead screwdriver but placed a cloth-wrapped piece of wood or metal (can't remember which) on the hood so I could leverage the emblem up a little at a time (one side to the other) without scratching the hood or touching it with the screwdriver. Came out easy.
