APC? on 1996 Saab 9000CSE 2.3T

Hi,

I am somewhat new to Saabs, and trying to tune up a 96 9000 cse turbo. The car stays in base- boost all the time. I am currently replacing all of the vac lines, etc etc. Also, I cant seem to find the location of the APC unit in this car, or is everything in the ECU. or maybe im just overlooking it

Trionic is all in the ECU, but the DI cassette also contributes the anti knock information. There is no separate APC box for trionic cars.

You need the correct resistor plugs, properly gapped, and no leaks in the three vacuum/pressure hoses that feed boost pressure to the boost pressure control valve mounted on the radiator cross member.

Base boost means the ECU isn't getting the anti knock signals or the BPC sysem is not working correctly.

Base boost will also be applied if your brake lights are on, faulty switch and also if cruise control switch is on.

Disconnect the hose to the wastegate and go for a run. If boost is now available it could be a dodgy apc valve. If boost is still low check the wastegate actuator arm is still connected.
