I hear what you are saying but just think what I would have if I had started with an aero in the first place..
.3 litres? With all of the stuff you have replaced there is little difference between your car and an Aero even with the same mods. The turbo is the only thing that really makes a difference and you have upgraded that to very near Aero spec anyway and you can still upgrade it again if you want to go for more power. Your car is a rocket..ADMIT IT!

I don't think, that a stg 3 aero produces "only" 350Nm and 252bhp. But of cource if all these mods had taken place on an aero, then he could have 280- 290PS and 450Nm (with stock aero turbo). It's just the 2.3L engine, which makes the difference.
Take a 2.0 and a 2.3, put the same exhaust, intercooler, fueling, turbo and software on each and then dyno the two and you will not see much difference.

Oh alright YES, the ole girl is fairly quick, especialy for a front wheeler :) Interesting about the TD04 turbo though, I could pull another 20bhp if I went with the TD04 however the torque is mid range and the turbo lag is a pain, although you do get a swift kick up the rear when it does go. However the hybrid GT17 and its new super fast bearings lets it spool much earlier than the TD04. I can get to about 90mph before the TD04 gets past..

You know, dog hair does not stick to leather. That has to be worth at least 10hp!
Too true, now I can just open the windows at a ton and all the dog hairs just vanish out the window. (Of course for all those politicaly correct owners that we all are, I dont advocate ever breaking the speed limit. Speed trials should only ever be carried out in a safe and legal enviroment.. ;) )

That 3rd gear pull seemed very fast. My car before this was a C5 corvette with 345hp and I had it up to 160 a number of times and I dont remember it pulling up to 140 or so that quickly. Do you have a regular 9-5 with stage 3? Can the stage 3 cars hang with a stock corvette at those speeds?

Do you mean 160 mph or kmph?

That is a very valid point for sure. The only reason I like driving in France is that if you get tugged for speeding you just pay the fine and drive away. In the UK you get a huge fine and if you are lucky enough to not loose your licence you get a ton of points that drives the cost of insurance to something similar to insuring a space shuttle..
That's what I used to think - Enjoy it while you can :D, I read somewhere last year that certain countries in Europe, France especially, will be sending details of the speeding offence back to your country of residence so that you will have your license updated ;oops: with the relevant number of points.

The article I read didn't give a timeframe for this but stated that it WILL happen - :(

Not that I'm condoning speeding in France etc ;)

Ha Paul,

I cant believe how you can manage to keep a tan interior so clean. My dog is in the car everyday and he totaly trashes the boot space. I have even gone to the effort of sticking thick plastic sheet throughout the boot, and a couple of precut bits of carpet for the floor.. Lucky the backs heavily tinted.

Great piccy by the way, looks like a dog who enjoys a bit of rough and tumble... I'll post a similar pick tommorow..

Hi Finn,
The car at that time was..oh...2 hours old and the Mutt was getting the feel of things. Wasn't too keen on the rigid parcel shelf as it stopped him resting his head on the back seats and drooling all down them so that came out. We could have bought one of those big ugly black trays that fit inside but they looked naff so we went for a dark tint on the back too. Hide the filth:D

Paul

Question - Now i hav ebeen hearing about the nordic stages. My car is fully stock and its a 4 cyl 2.3L 2001 9-5, i was wondering what the best upgrade would be... if i could jump to a stage 2 or just better off getting a stage one?
