Just about to buy Y334 ??? (forgot), its a 205bhp aero (not the newer 5door job but the vaux cavalier based :x 9-3 3dr thing).

What can be done for little money? that makes it a fair bit quicker but not massively quick,
Oh and its a manual too:cheesy:, doesn't seem to be many around on a manual box about these parts.

Thanks all

about to say we are trading in an older audi A6, but even with a few mods saab garage are only giving us ÂŁ900:eek:, sold it privatly we would get abou ÂŁ1600 at least (done 142k, but nothing really, I've got a volvo 740estate (about to have a B230ET with B531 head and a mod'd T3 hybrid dumped into it') with 1/4million miles!:eek: Still drives better than most modern cars do at 50k LMFAO!!!

Genuinesaab.com is in the US or because i think you live in Europe, elkparts.com has similar products to Genuinesaab.com

If you dont want A LOT of power, you may want to consider a BSR stage 1 setup....its just something you plug into your car which makes it 30-40hp? faster....im not check out .com tho

thanks, I forgot about BSR chips, their website isn't really very clear which is which. BUt seems OK for the price.

The other thing I want to know is what things go wrong on these cars? Its done about 60,000miles so I reckon like timing chain (are they still using a chain nowadsays?) will need done, and clutch etc will be on the way out (Given its a manual).

My 9-3 (99) has 140k on her w/ original chain. No noise ,no slap, but full records...

I've had 115k on a 9000 when a chain snapped...

So, maintain it, and save yourself the $1200.. (more if you decide to do a headgasket at the same time...)
