So I think I might have come up with a very reliable way to do a two step limiter on our T5 cars.

It would consist of a RPM activated switch, such as this:

And a standard relay, such as this:

And finally a toggle switch, such as this:

My wiring diagram for the setup.. Made it real quick in MS paint, but gets the job done..

(tl;dr)

So pretty much it works by cutting the power to the DI cassette at a certain rpm set by the RPM activated switch. The RPM activated switch will trigger a relay to cut the power. The toggle switch will turn the whole system (RPM activated switch) on or off. Obviously replaceable by a "hold down button" for actual launches.

If it becomes a problem that check engine lights get thrown, or misfire codes, we can simply throw some stimuli at the rough road sensor, which tells the ecu to stop looking for misfires. Simply hook up pin 87 on the relay to the pin on the ecu. Or something like that...


OR

To play it on the safe side, implement this technology on the fuel injectors instead of ignition!
