Hello,

i want to fix this car. a 2008 9-3 . it has damage on rear panel, the trunk and the bumper.. Would the previous rear body panel , trunk, bumper with on this 2008-up new trim?

in some Saab sites, the body parts references are given as fits 2003-2010. mekes me think as they would fit.. with the 2003-2007 trim and the 2008-2010 trim..

any answers would be helpful.. thank you

I think they will fit. The biggest change between 03-07 and 08-11 is the front assembly. The rear is almost identical to the previous models except for changes to the rear emblem, spoiler, tail lights, rear reflectors, and rub strips. Someone will say if I'm wrong. Check scrap yards for 08 tail lights because they are very hard to find new.

Nope the 2008 onwards body panels will not fit a 2007. Due to the cut outs of the front and rear bumpers. They do look identical but i took it to my local saab specialist and we tried to add a rear valance from a 2008 to my 2007 and it was a few inches off.

The bumper valance is a lot different than the bumper itself. Unless you have a Aero there is no cut out for the stock 2.0T bumper. I'm not saying your wrong but still think the rear bumper will fit. The op should find parts from the same model year because the 08 lacks rub strips.http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167131

The rear valance that we tried to fit was part of an 08 saab rear bumper. It wont fit, if you look at the angle of the cut near the lights/fenders youll see the difference. Ive tried fitting it on but youll need some custom body work to be done which isnt worth it imho.

won't work...the whole line of the 2 models is different. To meet crash test requirements the sides are deeper, arches are bigger, bumpers chunkier and the floorpan has some differences.
THO the car in that picture is pretty much a write-off or at least it would be in the UK were Saabs have no value anymore and parts are silly money.

I dont see how a 08 bumper will fit a 07 but wont work the other way around. Think the op should find the rear of a 08 and have it welded on or find another 08 to get parts from. Dont know why anyone would want a salvaged rebuilt car though.

the car is off $16.000 below the market value.

Thank you all for your replies. This TTID Aero is off $16.000 below the market value. Sure.. it is a write off from the insurance company. A broker is selling the car.

As Moreno has replied( thank you) i have also thought the rear trunk, and bumper from a pre 2008 would fit, just from comparing the photos visually and checking some Saab parts websites.. post 2008 has no bumper stripes i have noticed.. there cold be major adjustments.. but sure the panel and rear light would be from a 2008 and up model year..

i checked some second hand parts. the pre 2008 bumper was available for $ 240 the rear light for $200. thre quarter might cost some. the repair work in our country is generally not so high if parts are available.

As Genman and Brechnar100 has replied( thank you all) sure there is some minor differences.the rear panel looks different.

like i have said there is a $ 16000 difference in price. between an original one and this one.. but i dont also know if it is worth repairing it. since its an insurance write off.

I believe only the newer and older convertible rear bumper/body panels are interchangeable.
