I have a 2004 model Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible and I bought a tablet DVD player (Nextbase/Colby) to entertain my kids on long trips. However I can't find a good solution to add wireless headphones to this system; IR transmitters need 12V and have to be mounted somewhere high which of course is not possible in a convertible. Ideally there would be a battery operated IR transmitter, small, which plugs into the headphone jack and then connects to both headphones. I have not been able to find such for my player (there is a solution for just one pair of headphones, but you can imagine the fights in the back seats in that case).

Any suggestions or ideas for this matter?

Thanks

Why don't you check out Sennheiser's range of wireless headphones? They have quite a good range and they will work well for you application. They use RF so you can position the transmitter anywhere. However, if you need 2 pairs of headphones, you will need to buy 2 sets of headphones.
