I have been noticing a subtle whirl! whirl! whirl! noise while i'm during a high speed turn around an off ramp bend 50-70km, but its only when the wheel is turned. When I straighten the car out it goes away and its only on the driver side wheel from what I can tell. Could it be the bearing or cv joint going?

Usually when you hear the noise when turning only it's the wheel bearing, and I think the rule is that it's the opposite side from which you are steering.....its been awhile since I read it...
