I'm thinking about buying a (genuine, official, authorized, non-pirate) WIS CD. Only thing is, I'm not sure my computer will run it. Anyone know what format they are in?

What do you mean by format? Windows vs. Mac or more like .pdf vs. .txt?

From the screenshots I've seen, I believe its Windows-based. I think that the WIS has its owner viewer too, so its just a matter of installing the software and you're good to go.

I'm sure WIS is like the parts manual, where it runs in its own Windows application. The files are some special format that only the viewer can read. I run the parts manual in Virtual PC on my Mac.

Windows platform. I've run the early versions on a 486-33 with Win 98. Self-contained app, but it gets very messy if you run a NG900, 9-3, 9-5 all at the same time. The new WIS 3.0 for 9-5 and 9-3SS integrates and is much better, but the old WIS will try to overwrite it and vice-versa.

You can get one from the dealer, I believe. A couple hundred bucks, maybe? Sometimes authetic versions are auctioned on ebay. But nothing w/ a starting bid of $.99!
