I just purchased a 1999 factory issue 9-3 stereo w/CD to swap out w/mine, as mine has the tape player. I have a 1999 9-3. In previous posts there were comments about properly "divorcing" my stereo and properly "marrying" the new one to my car. On the back of the CD player I just bought, there are stamped 4 characters in green. Would these be the codes? What would examples of SAAB codes (combination of letters and numbers)? So I know where to look.

Thanks.

The code is a 4 digit number. And you still need to have the unit "divorced" using the TechII while in the original car. Now if this is a brand new replacement and has never been in another car, I assume that you can just put it in and using the TechII (at a dealership) have it then married to your car. Otherwise is acts as if it was stolen and its useless.

The radio code for a 900 looks like this:
1234
4 digits ranging from 1-6.
The 9-3 needs no codes.
