Hi all- I'm a new forum member with a 1998 900 SE and having a lot of fun sorting out and driving this car. I have a question on how it maintains boost pressure. On acceleration it will boost right up to below the red zone but then waver back forth between full and about 7/8s of full boost. What should I be looking to fix? The car has original intercooler rubber hoses that look pretty shabby but without any obvious cracks. I am planning to install a cross through IC and will address new hoses. Could I have a small crack that is bleeding pressure or should I be looking at waste gate or controller issues?
Thanks for any comment, ideas, recommendations!

I'd definitely re-new all the under-hood rubber, particularly if it is original.

If you had boost leak you'd hear it, I did. As I am going to, you should prepare to install a crossflow front mount intercooler and add new piping.
