Hello, So the other day the trunk on my 2000 wagon didnt want to close, like a door when you flip the little lock thing and try and close it, well no matter how many times i tried to fix this by like pullin the handle to open it, it didnt work, finaly i got it by prying on the lock pieace that usually closes around the lock post, and pulling the hande, and now the trunk opens and closes fine,
BUT....

The car thinks that it is open and the rear light stays on and the light on the dash that says the trunk is open, is always on!

Has anyone had this fun problem before?

Thanks!

Sounds like you have a sticky lock. Mine had a similar thing when I first bought my car. I went through the same problems as you but fortunately fixed it by using a can of WD40 and basically flushing it out. The Lock sensor that shows on the dash is also located in the boot lock so I guess the whole mech is the problem. I know its relatively easy to change but I have no idea on cost..
