Hi there, the radio in my 1997 900 SE Turbo Convertible has a funky problem with the radio. Everything works fine with the radio except the volume control. When I turn on the radio (push the button), it plays whatever station it's on with a medium sound level. When I try and turn the volume up or down, nothing happens.

Anyone seen this problem before?

Thanks for any pointers
Mike

You might try cleaning the volume control with some contact cleaner. But, you'll need the 4-digit security code before you remove the radio.

On the other hand, I bought a used radio on eBay for $50 shipped. If you go that route, make sure you get a working code with it... Ron

I suspect broken solder connection where the volume control connects to the main board on the faceplate. I had a similar problem with a Volvo, hitting all the connections with a soldering iron quickly solved the problem. Just make sure like Ron says you have the radio code before removing the radio.

Mine is hard to get turned up when I'm driving AND the auto volume control is on. Get the message?
