I removed my hood insulation in order to keep the temps down in the engine bay (a problem I hear with Viggens especially) and I wanted to know if you guys have notice any ill effects? The hood did get hot, but I've never checked it with the insulation to compare. I suspect this might be a weekend thing and I'll use my Raytek temp gun to get accurate readings.

I actually just started a thread about this and other easy cooling tweaks. Nobody really has had any reportable ill-effects due to this mod. Some would speculate that it could harm the paint, but nobody has had this problem.

Hmm, Stromer, I'll carry my temp gun in the car and get an exact hood temp inside and out in hot weather (mid 80s, low 90s) and maybe a paint expert could tell us..

Wouldn't want to find out a year later my hood paint is comin off :-D
