Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I've been on this forum. I gave my 99 9-3 to my father when I bought a Jeep Patriot. It's been a year and I've come to the conclusion that I want to go back to Griffin brand. I saw on Craigslist last night that there was a Viggen for sale. I've always wanted one so I was excited. I then went on to read that the engine turns over, but the is a major knock in the lower engine. He says he doesn't know what it is or he's just not admitting it. So my question is what would be a rough estimate on the cost of a rebuild of the b235r engine? Would it be worth it to just find a used one in the local Saab graveyard (we have one 50 minutes north of us) ? Or, radical thought here, could I yank the T5 engine out of my dads 9-3 which runs great, throw the td04 from the Viggen on there with the inter cooler and flash the 9000 Aero ecu and throw that baby in? I already know that the t5 is a better engine so that was my first thought.
