2000 Viggen, 85 Degrees, stock except for cone filter

232.1whp @ 4850
293.1 wtq @ 3300

Oh yes, and before anybody calls B.S., this was part of the Saab dyno day so I have plenty of witnesses AND, the car has made 5 dyno pulls in all. 3 at Pruven Performance in CT where it did 231, 229, and 230 and 2 more today at F1 Dyno in Portland ME where it did 232 and 231.

Very respectable rush. When you facotr in the 15% driveline losses "just for fun" you get it to be 272.9 hp and 344 lb-ft. Wow.

Mike, once you get that boost gauge on you will know a lot more about what to do to get your car back up there.

Sounds right. The vig stock was supposed to be 230whp anyways, so if your car is running in tip top shape it should be doing that.
the bhp figure for the Viggen is DIN, which is at the flywheel [or crank] so somewhere this Viggen has an extra 40 - 50bhp if that print out is wheel bhp [typically the F25 loses around 40 - 50 bhp] if those are accurate wheel numbers then its DIN figure is in the order of 270 -280bhp, if this is correct I strongly suggest you contact Saab and offer them the vehicle, because to be so far offer factory power output more or less stock is something they could learn from and definately would pay good money for such a vehicle.

Viggens are often know to produce prettymuch around 220 whp. So this is even stronger on that number. Why are they underrated??????

Yeah Firstly there is th eoverboost mode that goes for 30 seconds I think..

Then also, a lot of car manufacturers underrate their engines for tax and insurance purposes.

I've got two vids of your Dyno runs if you want them... or if anyone is willing to host them.;)

How large are they? I might be able to host them for a short period of time if they aren't too big...

I don't mean to call BS, but that just ain't right. I'm not saying you're lying, you have the sheet to backup your claims. But according to that you're making more torque at the wheels than you're supposed to be making at the crank. Either the dyno is miscalibrated or Saab is lying through their teeth. Kinda hoping the later as I have the same engine.

I just noticed you did this at two different spots, which throws out the miscalibration idea. Are these engines really that under rated? Wait, what gear did you do these runs in?

4th gear pulls...I suspect 2 things are up

1. Viggens ARE underrated to begin with, there are been more then a few cases of stock Viggens making 210whp to 220whp which equals anywhere from 250 - 260 crank HP (odd, thats right about where the Aero is)

2. My car seems to, for whatever reason, run harder than your average Viggen, maybe I got a ringer? There are statistics out there, although I do not know them specifically that for every X number of cars coming off the line most are normal and run within manuf specs, a few are duds (lemon's waiting to happen), and some just buy sure luck come out with everything DEAD on and working together so perfectly that they run harder and better than the average car.

Its really take it or leave with my car, well, you gotta kinda take it since its 2 different dyno's in 2 different states over a year apart with a total of 5 pulls within a 3 HP range.
