I'm in the process of changing my discs and the old discs at the rear are of the vented variety. Can you just simply fit solid discs with the existing caliper?

Also are the brake pads the same for vented and solid discs?

Different thickness. Buy the correct rotors. No idea why you would want to go to solid from vented.

I already have a set of solid discs and pads available which is why I'd want to change them. It's more of a question whether it's possible to do it to save me buying a pair of vented discs.
