HIIII SAAB FRIENDS
OKAY. SO IM ON SAAB NUMBER 4. ALL OF WHICH ARE THE 03 BODY STYLE BUT I DONT LIKE ANYTHING GM SO I STOP AT THAT YEAR.
MOVING ON. I GOT A FAB DEAL ON A VECTOR WITH 80K 2003 ANYWAY. ITS CAUSING ME GREIF AND I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW ECU WHEN PURCHASED. BC I TRUST NO ONE TO WORK ON MY CAR BUT MYSELF I DIDNT LISTEN. THEIR WERE NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR..... BUSTED HOSES TURBO INTAKE ETC. . CAR WAS BURNING TOO MUCH FUEL THO AND THE ENGINE WOULD FLOOD. NO PROB GET PAST THAT PROBLEM. NOW THE INJECTORS ARE LEAKING. SO IM WONDERING IF IT IS IN FACT THE ECU SINCE IVE WAITED SO LONG TO REPLACE IT. ALSO I HAVE NO TIME TO BE SENDING COMPUTERS PUT TO BE PROGRAMED SO JUST TO CONFIRM IF I WANT A DIRECT SWAP CAN I JUST OULL ECU OUT AND FIND ONE WITH SAME NUMBERS?

2003 SAAB 9-3 VECTOR
I LOVE THIS CAR GUYS.

No need to SHOUT..

Codes..
Hi sorry didn’t mean to make it out like I was shouting it’s just that I was hoping it wasn’t the computer as I knew the person that put my new o-rings on the injectors didn’t do them properly. That aluminum fuel line is also wildly loose and I was thinking it would be under that recall; however Saab is saying no. Here are the codes. Any suggestions on the aluminum rail issue too would be helpful.

P0201, P0202, P0203, and P0204 together typically point to a failing ECU. When mine went I got those codes and at first the car would start rough but run fine once warmed up. Then it ultimately just started flooding the engine and wouldn't start. ECU's aren't plug and play, you will have to have one programmed to the car with a tech2.

Also 2003 and on are about as GM as they come.

If you have a laptop you can clone a new (used) ECU from your dying one. No Tech2 needed.
