My buddy called me and said that there was a 93 areo that a guy was looking to get rid of for 4500 it has 160000k miles on it and its a 6 speed manual. I'm not sure on the year but it is one above the o3 models. I want it but I was wondering If someone could guide me in the right direction on wether or not I should get it and what to look out for with having that many miles on her

I'd say stay away. To high of mileage for me. My Saab had 55,000 miles on it when I bought it and that was the highest mileage car I've ever purchased. I normally like to stay around 30,000 max when buying a used car

Yeah I'm not gonna say I have no doubts on buying this car based on its mileage I just really want an areo. I have a 03 93 linear now and this is just a sweet deal. Do you have anything to recommend on what to expect on such a high mileage 93? I think he said its going to need a new clutch so how hard is that to do and is it really expensive

I wouldn't consider it a sweet deal. The car has 160k on it and it could be upwards of 9 years old. Sounds like a moneytrap to me.

Too high of miles for me. $4,500 might seem like a great deal, but the repairs can add up very quickly if something goes wrong. After your costs you could have bought a car with a lot less miles. It's a risk you need to figure out if you want to take. Do you have a few extra grand laying around for repairs, or would having to spend that kind of money be hard for you?

If you plan on using it for a reliable commuting car, no. If you plan on making a build out of it and replacing things like the suspension (which will go out soon) clutch, coil packs, tensioner, engine rebuild, etc. and have an extra budget aside, then yes. but even so, i'd go 3800

I have a 03 linear with 181k. Runs excellent and has held up really well. If its been properly maintained I wouldn't worry too much. 4500 is a little steep though.

Same here I have 152000k on mine and its running good I did get a chance to look at the areo today and I found out that its missing the front lip ( ripped off) the bumper is missing the front grill. Otherwise it runs good the clutch doesn't feel right it releases really high if that makes sense. But I don't think I wann go 4500 on it should i make an offer at 3700? Or lower?

Is it from an individual or a used car lot? Mine was $3400... I'd offer $3500 and go from there IMO.
