Has anybody swapped the standard actuator for one of these?

Would there be any benefit going for one and fit a stronger spring on a stage 5 tune?

Different car but I tried a few different springs in the forge actuator on my old 9000 Aero (stage 6 with the gt3076r) and had good results just swapping the blue spring for red ;ol;

Good find. A bloke on the FB Turbo X group fitted one of these;

Some pretty big claims about the benefits but even discounting for marketing spin could still be worthwhile.

I drive a 20t turbo setup. ~380hp.
I adjust it a little bit for my driving style :)
I dont know which spring i'm actually using. I changed it last time.
I think Its a red or blue one.

Thanks mate, I think I'll go for it pay day :) Seems a good price especially with the spring kit :)

Is that the 20T JZW tune? Have you tried the 3 bar map sensor upgrade yet? I'm fitting mine when I get home next week :)

Got mine tonight...pretty fast shipping to California considering I just ordered it 11/9. Will wait until I get all the parts for my 20T to install.

I can't see the pic, is this the actuator or 3 bar map sensor? Also where is everybody picking up the sensor?

hey,
first i had the super 19t from brian with all other stuff.
and now i drive 20t from TTE germany.
but no difference. brians 19t is very similar to the 20t ;ol;

no, i dont have a 3bar sensor. but i need them next time.
i will change to borg warner turbo. maybe the efr 7163 twin scroll.

i asked many companys, if they can build me a manifold for that turbo.
but i looks very bad.

so i do it together with a good friend and build a new manifold for bigger turbo :D

Sounds good ;ol;

No idea how good these are or if they fit that turbo but there's this:

There's a couple things on there I'm thinking of getting next year, oil cooler plate & the ram air intake sound good :D

Couldn't copy link to group for some reason :roll:

Search FB for SAAB TURBO X CLUB, this is the group's name. Problem with FB is that as a resource tool it is poor as you cannot tag, classify posts for easy future reference.
I really should join FB! Missing out on loads of stuff!

Did not want to wait until I got my 20T (won't be until Dec.) so I decide to install the actuator today. Results are as expected...quicker onset of boost and seems to hold boost stronger...although I did not get a chance to go past 5.3k
Easy enough to swap over?

I'm giving this map sensor a few weeks before going for the actuator, fingers crossed that'll sort out my throttle cut issue. Need to put around 450 miles more on the clutch before I find out though. HP Tuners scanner ready!!!

Fair way to go yet, for the price though it's worth giving the actuator a try out ;ol;

have you considered just adding a helper spring to your oem actuator?

i've run one on my subaru for 10+ years. raised wastegate pressure from 7 to 12, then changed it to 1 bar when i swapped turbos.

spring came from home depot and cost a few bucks.
