Hi All ,

First i would like to say i am new to this forum , any help/advice is much appriciated .

I have my Saab for 1 year now and i love this machine, wish i went for 2.0T but hey too late now. :cheesy:

The clutch is long gone , really i shoulnd be driving anymore , and i dont know if I should replace with LUK, Valeo, Sachs kits or upgrade with a
Black Diamond Fast Road Organic Clutch Kit (Stage 1) or Stage 2.

Has anyone done this upgrade ? Anything i need to know/ look out for ?

The car has done 98k miles ( 13K clutch abusing miles by me ) so i will have to get a new DMF too , has anyone ever upgraded to a solid flywheel ? also will a standard DMF be ok with the stage 1 clutch.

Any advice around whats best , and about getting a good price on this would be great. What about a mechanic you can trust with this kind a job.

Read on another forum that LUK, Valeo & Sachs share kit, so a Sachs clutch & DMF kit may well be LUK manufactured!

I had my clutch & flywheel done last February and went all Sachs (At least that's what indie ordered, £700 inc installation), was tempted to go for a solid flywheel, but didn't really find any clear info online, and time was against me. Good luck if you go for a solid & do post up any details.

Thanks for your replys

So Black Diamond , stage 1 ?! Is it worth paying extra £££ for stage 2 ?! From my research is more recommended for heavy modified engines , 200hp +

£700 for clutch and DMF ? not a bad deal :) , I am struggling to get that in London area. Where did you get yours done? With my parts , including slave cylinder, he will charge labour £350 .

Are there any other parts worth changing/looking at while he is there ? I understand this is quite a major job to do , thats why so costly , I dont want to repeat too soon , sorry, can't afford :cheesy:

Had it done at Saabtec near Manchester, place is very good & very busy but probably a bit far from you! Can't think of any else worth changing while he's fitting the clutch/flywheel.
