I have just 'won' this auction on ebay because my remote does not work on my car. I took it to Saab who said that they were unable to communicate with the alarm controller. I looked at the remote receiver (underneath the rear air vents) and the circuit is a little melted so there must have been a problem.

This auction comes with the TWICE unit, remote receiver and 2 remote transmitters.

So if I replace the TWICE and remote receiver will that then give a remote central locking system again?

I presume to get arround the immobiliser/alarm I would have to take my existing flip key fob apart and put the immobiliser chip from the ebay item in mine and the remote transmitter from the ebay item in mine, i.e. just left with my key blade.

So I guess this can all be done without Tech2 if it was working before hand. But will a new TWICE unit require marrying to the rest of my cars computers for it to function correctly?

Really want to get my remote locking working again!!!
Tried to search for TWICE on the forum but it won't let me due to twice being too common.

The TWICE module also stores the immobilizer codes for the ECU and, possibly, other computers on-board. If you change the ECU or TWICE, you will need a TechII to update the immobilizer codes for the engine to start. I just had the ECU on my 9-5 upgraded and I had to pay a mechanic to do it because, otherwise, I would not be able to get the car to him to be reprogrammed without a tow truck.

Well I just got my TWICE etc through.

I called one indy garage who said that it had to be unmarried and then remarried to my car. Does anyone know whether this is true?? Doubt that it has been TechII out of the scrap car.

I got the salvaged TWICE, Remote recievers and remotes working the remote locking this evening. Obviously didn't try starting the engine because it wouldn't be married up.

I'm going to ring round for a few quotes tomorrow.
Just hope they can remarry it without problems. Should be quite a simple job if that's the case. Any ideas?

All sorted, jut needed reprogramming with TECH2. saab specialist did it for £25.

by the way, the TWICE unit is under the PASSENGER FRONT SEAT on UK and RHD vehicles.
