I ordered an exhaust manifold to turbo gasket and was surprised to find that the parts store had ordered the full ProParts kit with studs, crush gaskets, etc. The fact that it's a ProParts kit aside, it's nice to have the studs just in case (all I'm doing is a head swap)...

BUT...the kit came with a sealed and empty 5ml syringe. Why? It is pictured as being part of the kit at various online suppliers, so it's not a mistake.

What is the syringe for?

Probably to pre-lube the turbo - you wanna squirt 5ml of oil down the oil feed side before starting the engine as post-change the turbo could get wrecked before oil gets through the feed line.

Got it. Good to know...I have my spare turbo ready to swap if needed, but hopefully it won't be.
