Hey I'm trying to do an 1992 n/a c900 build, I'm shooting for hopefully the 180-200hp range, I am planning on doing cams, itbs, bigger injectors, more aggressive timing (probably with an msd 6al or the like), and an exhaust. Depending on what everything looks like after that I might get into more expensive stuff, but I was wondering what tuning looks like on a stock ecu? I'd hope I don't have to but I'd rather spend the cash now than melt a piston later or something.

Thanks!

Put simply, it cannot be done. You will never hit 200hp (and probably not even 150hp) at 6000rpm, and the ECM doesn't have the resolution to functionally go higher than 6000rpm. I thought you were installing Haltech?

Thank you for posting at SAAB Central!

The 1991 to 1993 NA SAAB 900 should employ the 2.1 liter engine with EZK ignition system. Many customers seeking higher engine output opt to install a light pressure turbocharger(LPT) as it is very easy to install the B202 turbo engine's exhaust manifold, turbocharger, exhaust components, induction plumbing, etc. to the 2.1 NA engine. The EZK ignition system will also retard ignition timing if it detects engine detonation which also allows for a safe installation.

The NA engine may also be enhanced, but requires multiple modifications such as camshaft set, exhaust system, header, fuel support, etc., and many applications call for a higher engine rpm to allow for greater impact.

Thanks again for your post!

Sincerely,

Gary K. at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
