I was having trouble with my transmission where it wouldn't always shift smoothly into gear. I took it to the dealer for service and when I came back to pick it up, they had "upgraded transmission software" and had not put one single mile on the car. Does it seem odd that they would diagnosis and fix a problem without test driving?

I haven't had a chance to really drive it around since, so I can't say if the problem is fixed or not.

I'm sure they upgraded the ECM with the tech-ii as per the TSB on the erratic shifting, but they probably should have test drove it just for good measure. If there were any problems with the upgrade they would have known about it as they ran through the upgrade with the tech-ii. Always a good practice though.
