Hi all

I have a 95 Aero Estate Auto.

Does anyone have any experince of towing with this model? I will be pulling a Caravan (UK towing!) and I am concerend about the Auto 'box in particular, any thoughts? I also bope to be able to tow a car trailer when I need to transport my other SAABs!

Max towing weight with braked trailer 1800kg
Max towing weight of trailer without brakes 750kg

Towing is hard on autoboxes so a tranny fluid change might be a sound idea, you might find it easier on hills to use the gearbox manually, it will constantly change up/down as speed fluctuates slightly and could cause the box to overheat. Steep hills whether going up or down should be tackled in 1st gear.
Might be an idea to get the brakes checked over as well, they are worked hard during towing.

Cheers

I'm due for a 55(?),000 service soon and I had intended getting the front disks done along with a new set of pads, I think I'll ask them to drop the fluid in the auto 'box and get some fresh put in.
Still not sure what to do- whether it's worth considering getting an additional vehicle to tow as I'm looking for a second vehicle.
