I will assume you have some wheels with the stock 49mm offset. (That number should be on your rim somewhere, maybe I49?) I also assume they're 6.5" wide.

I have just done some testing of how well 225/50-15 racing tires on Saab 6.5" 49mm offest rims fit on a 900.

The racing tires may have wider tread than whatever you are considering.

Clearance will likely be tight between the right rear tire and the filler pipe.

I would worry more about the front wheels with your 16" wheel size. The 15" tires are smaller in diameter and the bulge sits below the lip on the strut. 16" tires may hit that pretty good.

In addition, the 16" tires will be huge and heavy. The diameter is probably too big. You need to test-mount a tire on a rim and put it on at least three corners (both fronts and right rear) before committing to this.

225/50 has a slightly too tall of a sidewall
Yep. I have the 225/50-15 wheel sitting beside the stock 195/60-15 wheel. The 225/50 tire is a touch smaller in diameter, but not by much ( a few mm). Going with a 225/50-16 means basically 1" greater diameter than stock.

Re

I measured them and they seem to be 7.5in I know there not stock,by their appearence. The car was preveously owned by a guy who owns or works for MP performance a CO. that sells upgraded ecus and other saab parts,at least they used too.

225/50/16 sidewall is 225 *.50 = 4.43" sidewall x 2 + 16 = 24.86 diameter
205/50/16 sidewall is 205*.50 = 4.03" sidewall x 2 + 16 = 24.06 diameter

New tire will extend 10mm more to each side, and .4" (10mm) more in radius (tire extends 10mm more from center to edge of tire). Not a huge difference. Your speedo will be off on the low side about 3% (in other words you'll be going 3% faster than whatever the speedo says).
