I'm looking at some used tires, P205/60/15. The stock width is P195. Does anyone know if these are too wide?

I take it that the tires are not for the Saab 97 (Sonnet) which, IIRC, takes 165 x 15 x 80?..

I am positive that 205 x 15 x 50 is not too wide for the '98 which, I thought came with 16 inch tires...

Assure that the wheels are large enough for this car..

The size on there now is 195/65/15

Are you looking for winter tires? If so, go with narrower tires not larger (185 instead of 195). Believe it or not, you get more traction with a narrower tire.

Would the 205/60R15 fit? Yes. I have 215/45R17s so the 205 would fit but what's the width of the wheel? 15X? 6"? or 6,5"? The larger tire will look wierd if fitted on a narrow wheel. My 17"s are 7" wide while my 15"s were 6.5" wide so going from 195 to 215 was no problem. Actually, 225s would've looked better on my 17" Viggen wheels but I was worried about rubbing.
