ok- i read through a few suspension threads and its got me thinking. I'm getting some tires soon if all goes well and I want to know what my experience is going to be or if anyone else has done it (Which i'm sure of).

long story short:

without rolling the fenders, bbs RK2 wheels, 35 offset, 8 inches wide. CAN i fit a 235/45/17 tire with NO rubbing. again this is with no fender roll. or am i going to need to stick it to 225.

if this answer is out there already can someone please point me in the right direction?

thanks very much.

EDIT: sorry i should probably include i'm on the stock 2000 Aero suspension setup right now.

I thought the std. alloys in Aeros were 7.5"widex17x. And offset is 41 I thought.

that sounds like the 5 spoke wheels, yes. I have the optional bbs wheels from the factory that came on the older models that are 8 inches wide with a 35 offset.

Nice.

I would be surprised is 35offset with stock size tires would rub. If you run your hand round the top of the tire and the suspension bits and bobs you can get a good idea of the clearance.

Sometime ago I was on BBS RX2 17x8 ET35 and was on 225x45x17 tyres
and they did rub the plastic lining in the front arch, but only when I go over road undulations at speed.

A picture of the BBS RX2 and 225x45x17 Conti CSC3 here for you.
