Split chain installation

Remove valve cover. Cut chain. Tie one end of new chain to old chain using some wire. Now pull out the old chain which will introduce the new one. Play around with it, you need the chain to not touch the crankshaft pulley. I jacked up one wheel, put the car in 3rd and turned the wheel, turning the engine and doing it nice and easy - but I didn't have a head mounted so make sure the valves don't contact. Put the engine at TDC (flywheel at 0, camshafts aligned and cam gear markes pointing upwards 90 degress to the head), put the master link in the chain, install tensioner, install valve cover, put in some oil, crank it up and idle for a while, then drive around at low rpm.

Hey, Thanks jezzadee, I found that when I was searching earlier but I didn't see the "next page" button at the bottom. I though it was an awfully short writeup. :cheesy:

Thanks again, you too 900t,
Cheers,
