well sorted it, went home had me tea and a couple of beers, back to work, removed new tensioner from head, looked in me box of old bits, found the old tensioner, reset it put it back in bingo no chain noise, quick road test all ok, bit of loose oil burning off the exhaust etc, but at last shes finished, so i quick run down, full rebuild inc parts:
crank, 1 con rod ( took 3 to find a set to balance), big end and main shells, thurst bearings, oil pump gears, balnce shaft chain kit, timing chain kit, piston rings, water pump, thermostat, clutch kit, belt pulleys and tensioner, plugs, air and oil filter, bits replaced while engine out, air con pipe, power steering pipe, belt tensioner.
machine work done:
flywheel lighterned, crank/flywheel and clutch cover balanced, con rods and pistons balanced, head overhauled and slight port work.

thats about it approx cost with out my labour which included the machine work, approx £1100.
was it worth it?? yes, good car got better

geoff
