Hi,
I have read many posts on replacing balance and timing chain on 9-3 (9400), however, I have 9-3(9440) (b207 engine), and was curious how hard it is to replace timing chain/ balance chain? I hear a rattle at idle. From the WIS manual and videos online, it looks like you can support the engine via the oil pan and remove the engine mount and slightly lower the engine to get access to the timing cover without removing the engine. is this true? I've replaced struts, gas pump, valve cover gasket, etc., but just a hobbyist with few tools, and definitely need to watch how to put engine in time. Should I undertake? 2007 9-3 130K miles. Car looking solid otherwise.
