Hello all!

I purchased a Tech 2 a few years ago since I have too many GM cars/trucks. It was used and now ive got a feeling that I bought a counterfeit unit. It was working fine for a long time, then every now and then would boot into "Download Mode RS232" I would simply shut it down and reboot it and it would be fine. Now it seems to be permanently stuck in that mode when I boot it up. If I boot it without the memory card it goes to its check screen. Does anyone know how to get the unit out of "Download Mode"?

try to connect it to TIS and actually re-download the software to the card

I had this and found in my case it was linked to a bad pcmcia card (I still get the permanent download if I put the bad card back in).I even tried with the Elan card writer software to recover the bad card...but no joy.
