'92 9000 turbo. My tach doesn't want to work in cold weather until the engine reaches normal temp, then it's fine. Is there a sending unit or sensor located on the engine and, if so, where?? I want to check the wiring to the tach. Also, could this be an internal problem with the tach itself? Thanks!

I think the tach uses the crank sensor as its pickup so if the car idles normally then its probably ok.. does the tach work when you leave the car stationary and warm it up or only after some driving? Sounds like loose wire to me.

Other than the tach issue, the car's fine. I'll check the crank sensor connection and see if that works. I hope it's not getting ready to die. Swapping out the sensor ain't all that hard but it ain't all that much fun, either!

I dont think it is the crank sensor as the rest of the car is working fine. I'd have a look on the back of the tach and see of the wire has come loose. of course im only guessing
