Hi guys,

I recently saw on a forum somewhere (I thought it was here, but couldn't find it) a thread that was specifically for stupid questions.

I think it's a great idea, because I have heaps of stupid questions that I'm kinda scared to ask.

I've decided to start this thread (let me know if there's one already) to give everyone the opportunity to ask the stupid questions they've always been scared to ask.

I guess I better start...

My stupid question is - I was looking at my car (1999 9-3 S) yesterday and it suddenly looked to me like there is a slight camber to the rear wheels. Is it that I'm not level-headed or is that a standard thing that came with this model? I don't think the previous owners would have done that, so either I'm just looking at it weird, or it came standard. Does anyone know?

This doesn't really belong in the performance forum but it is a stupid question so... If I disconnect the battery in my '02 9-3, then re-connect it later (or pull out my radio to install stuff then re-install it) will my radio still work fine? I.e. this radio is married to the car and thus doesn't need a code, right?

the radio should be fine. i removed my battery cables and headunit when i installed some subs mine came on and worked fine(this was on a 2000 9-3). i kinda freaked out at first but cuase nothing happened when i turned the car on i didn't relize it wasn't on radio. but i have missing pixels and never know what it says anyway.

I have a stupid question. how do you read the oil stick It's almost oil change time again i just kinda guessed it was the top of the bubble on the bottom of the stick last time.

Someone could have jacked the middle of the rear axle and bent it, or possible one or more big pot holes could have bent it. Genuinesaab.com and Saab both sell shims to adjust the rear hubs on the axle. There was a real good post a year (or maybe two) ago by someone in the UK that shimmed his hubs. He mad a special tool to do the measuring and started loaning it out around the UK... Ron

Is anybody running HID's on their H4 lows and H1 fogs on their halogens? When I order the kits, do I need the cancelers or the wiring harness? Thanks for the replies guys :).

Lots of cars have a bit of negative camber on them. Rarely are they set at 0 camber unless it's something like an Escalade or a Jeep, next time you drive around look around at people's wheels. Especially the rear wheels on wagons.

My ?; does anybody make carbon fiber parts for us?

I don't think so. Every once in a while someone will pop on the classifieds and say they're gonna make stuff, but it never happens.

Exhaust leak/Intermediate Pipe

Hey fellas I need your advice on this. My intermediate pipe is leaking and from this cold morning start I also saw steam coming from the front of the bumper, which makes me believe the dp might be cracked also. My question " Is it safe/possible to replace the intermediate pipe with a straight pipe?

Yep! That's what my car had before I threw a full stainless exhaust on it.

Are you replacing the dp also?

Eventually this summer I'm going to get a 3in dp, but for now I'm money tight, so replacing the intermediate pipe with a straight pipe prolly would be my only option at the moment. But thanks I just wanted to ask my fellow saabers before going to a shop. :D

Hey call of the search party I just got a handle on big pics

PS: I still can't put quotes in
Dude.

See the button at the bottom of each post that says "quote" - push that.

Failing that, type [ and then QUOTE and then ] - to close it put a / between the [ and QUOTE at the end of your quote.

Just wondering if anyone's swapped a 260HP 2.3 from a newer 9-5Aero into a Viggen ?

Just wondering if anyone's swapped a 260HP 2.3 from a newer 9-5Aero into a Viggen ? And was it a big improvement in performance ? And I have been too lazy to look up the exact difference in the two versions of the motor, feel free to list those. Thanks for reading my dumb question:D
