strange indicator and rear brake light behaviour

Driving home from work early this evening I confirmed something I noticed several nights ago, which is that when I indicate left under brakes, the brake light mimic indicators underneath the tacho start to flash as well, but this doesn't seem to happen when indicating right. The headlights were not switched on when I was driving home earlier. I haven't been able to determine if the brake lights themselves are really flashing when this happens but it's a fair bet they are.

This sounds similar to the old C900 problem of bad earth connections to the left rear light cluster, but the first thing I did when I got home was take the cover off the back left light housing and the earths connected directly under the housing are fine and dandy.

Has anyone come across this type of electrical niggle with a 9000? I'll get the schematic diagram out tomorrow (oh duh it's right here in front of me - must have got it out for some other reason!) and see if I can do some earth tracing.

Craig.

Ok so I've had a look over the schematic and so far haven't figured out what's going on, though I'll keep digging.

Given that it happens only when indicating left under brake and not right, this lends towards a left indicator circuit issue.
