I still smell coolant even after I took my 2003 SE Vert to a saab mechanic (SAAAB Store in Tampa, FL) to get my head gasket replaced and everything else that goes with that job (head gasket, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs + cassette, coolant flush & oil change); for context I had just bought this car and my coolant reservoir had been overflowing after reaching operating temps. It’s only been a day and I’m being extra cautious, but I still smell a little coolant around the engine bay. I can only assume this is just the excess coolant cooking off the heat of the engine from however many times it previously overflowed, but I just need reassurance something else isn’t still wrong.

No one can reassure on that with any level of certainty, however smelling coolant still just afterward is a virtual guarantee unless they cleaned everything well
