I just noticed the seek buttons on my steering wheel would no longer FFW or RW a CD. They still skip to the next track or back, but no more FFW or RW. I'm not sure if the actual buttons on the player ever did, but they too only skip to next track or back. I have no ability to FFW or RW a CD which isn't the end of the world, but still sucks.

Any clues on what would cause the FFW and RW to stop, but allow the skip FW or skip back to still work on the same buttons?

Press the middle button, between forward and back on the head unit (or press both forwar AND back simultaneusly). The display will change from "CD TRACK" to "CD PLAY". And behold - you will regain control to FFW and RWD :D

Holy hell, I knew my wife must have pressed something for it to just stop working one day. I figured if the button was having a problem, it wouldn't work at all, not just on the FFW/RW.
